Entertainment One has signed an exclusive distribution deal with UK-based indie prodco Alleycats Films, which eOne says signifies its commitment to increasing its unscripted offerings.
The agreement gives eOne exclusive distribution rights to Alleycats’ content. The deal was brokered by Noel Hedges, eOne’s executive vice president of acquisitions, and will see Alleycats develop and produce content for the global market, which eOne will then distribute internationally.
The initial projects included in the deal are two new BBC3 series, The Fast and the Farmer-ish (7 x 30 minutes), a competition series that looks at the lives of young farmers, and The Big Proud Party Agency (6 x 60 minutes), about a team of LGBTQ+ professional party agents.
eOne previously partnered with Alleycats to distribute two series of the BBC2 docuseries Raiders of the Lost Past (known internationally as Lost Worlds and Hidden Treasures), which has been sold to more than 60 territories worldwide. Alleycats Films’ slate of content includes Tiananmen: The People v The Party for PBS/ARTE, How To Defuse A Bomb for BBC1/BBC4 and Helluva Tour for Channel 4.
