RiFF is a social media platform looking to make some noise and snatch some of the marketshare away from the likes of Spotify’s Greenroom and Clubhouse which create rooms and allow artists to connect with their fan bases whenever they please.
The platform has already recruited artists such as 21 Savage, NLE Choppa, Isaiah Rashad, Soulja Boy to make “RiFFs” and lead the charge. RiFF is growing at a vociferous pace since launching earlier this year and will be passing one million users very soon.
To make a better connection with the music industry, RiFF brought Hip Hop label heavy-hitters into the fold as investors including Quality Control Music CEOs Kevin “Coach K” Lee, Pierre “Pee” Thomas, Top Dawg Entertainment’s Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiiffith and EMPIRE founder Ghazi.
“Riff created an entirely new category — culture media,” Coach K said. “It combines the best of everything we do on social media. It was a no-brainer investment for QC.”
Riff specializes in voice chat along with a video feature to create rooms that essentially combine Instagram Live sessions with a Zoom call and Clubhouse room for one big party.
Artists have the freedom to monetize how they see fit with VIP rooms and other special features for certain members and have the freedom to play music, sell merch or have an album listening party. NLE Choppa was one of the pioneers on the forefront for RiFF.
“Tech innovation and music go hand in hand and Riff is leading the new wave for apps,” the TDE CEO added. “I’ve always been about reaching for the next level challenge, so I’m excited for TDE to invest in this breakthrough.”
