BAYarts provides a summer of entertainment – cleveland.com

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio – BAYarts in Village is known for art-a-plenty but there is also an abundance of entertainment for the public over the summer–concerts, dance theater, a double concert, even a performance by the Cleveland School of Rock. And how extra nice the events are because they are taking place on the beautiful BAYarts campus on Lake Road across from the Huntington Reservation.

Following are events not to miss this summer that go into August.

· Traditional Irish music on July 11 by the Portersharks

· Groundworks Dance Theater on July 15-16. GroundWorks DanceTheater returns to a live dance experience as the company performs new work from a diverse group of choreographers. The summer series will feature “Axis,” a new work by Adam Barruch, originally created for film and reimagined for the stage. Also the newly staged version of “Inside,” by Cleveland-native Antonio Brown, which was featured in the BAYarts drive-in film showings last fall. And “Sud Buster’s Dream” by GroundWorks founding Executive Artistic Director David Shimotakahara that premiered in 2019.

· Silver June Indie rock with Grace Sullivan on vocals on July 18

· Cleveland Shakespeare Festival’s “Romeo & Juliet” performed outside on July 25.

· Chris Allen Band, a Cleveland favorite, playing rock and originals on Aug. 1.

· School of Rock’s touring band from Cleveland School of Rock playing their versions of great songs from the old ’50s to the new ’20s on Aug. 5.

· A “Double Header” on Aug. 8: Moko Bovo at 5 p.m. with Dan Bod’s vocals, blues and originals followed by Maura Rogers and The Bellows–back by popular demand with favorite rock and originals.

· Kingfish on Aug. 15 with their “rock and rhythm.”

All concerts are held in the grass lawn by the Fuller House on Sunday evenings from 7-9 pm. Bring your own chair or blanket but note even though the BAYarts campus is “kid and dog-friendly” dogs must be on a leash.

Concessions will be open for purchasing snacks, beer, wine and drinks. Note there are no rain dates.

For more information or to purchase tickets, visit https://bayarts.net/events/concerts.html but all events are free unless noted.
