MARLBOROUGH – The Apex Entertainment Center is a 100,000 square foot space of pure fun.
Indoor attractions include an arcade, go-kart racing, Apex Kids, a ropes course, sports simulators, laser tag, Apex mini-golf, bowling, bumper cars and more. In addition, indoor birthday parties and private and corporate events can also be held.
The Apex Entertainment Center opened in December 2017. It has since been deemed the largest family entertainment center in New England. There are three additional locations that have also opened in Albany and Syracuse, New York, as well as most recently, in Virginia Beach.
“Essentially there is something here for everyone of all ages,” said Community Relations Manager Rob Luzzi. “Everybody is really our demographic, whether you are two years old or one hundred. People come for one activity or participate in many and could stay the entire day.”
Apex continually adds new attractions
One of the newest attractions is the Apex Mini-Golf, which is an eighteen-hole course and on the 4th floor.
In addition, Apex Kids was recently introduced. This is an area geared towards younger guests.
“Apex Kids is an area with inflatables, which the younger children love. This newer area resulted because another area closed due to the pandemic. We are excited to be offering yet another attraction to what we already had,” Luzzi said.
Company works to give back
One important branch of the Apex Center is called Apex Cares, and it is for charitable ventures.
Apex Entertainment Center is involved in every community that surrounds each of its locations as it takes pride in finding ways to give back.
“The first Saturday of every month, prior to opening, we invite participants for a sensory-friendly hour of fun geared towards those with autism,” Luzzi said.
He added, “We also partner with the New England Center for Children and had a deal with them that we would give them one hundred dollars for every field goal the Patriots made. With twenty-six field goals, we donated twenty-six hundred dollars.”
The Apex Entertainment Center also partners with The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp, which was founded in 1988 by Paul Newman. Located in Connecticut, the camp provides a safe and fun experience for children who are seriously ill.
Apex is now selling green bracelets for three dollars each, marked with both the Hole in the Wall name and the Apex Entertainment Center’s name. Proceeds are being donated to the camp.
In addition, the Apex Entertainment Center is a long-term sponsor of Mass Youth Soccer and many other area sports leagues.
Apex offers top-notch food
Back under the physical Apex roof, food is an important part of the entire Apex experience.
The facility offers a chef-inspired full menu that is more than just bar food and features many unique items.
In addition, Apex prides itself on catering to those with some dietary restrictions, offering over sixty-five gluten-free items in addition to pizza, burgers, salads, sandwiches and more.
Staff keeps an eye towards it’s guests
Walking into the Apex Entertainment Center, once cannot help but smile at all of the surroundings and areas of activities going on.
“I enjoy walking around while we are open to see that guests are enjoying themselves,” Luzzi said. “Just seeing the expressions on everyone’s faces, especially the kids, it’s just priceless.”
Luzzi and the staff pride themselves with providing a safe, clean venue for their guests and are always looking to give everyone the best experience possible. While this past year has been challenging due to the pandemic, everyone is following all of the state’s coronavirus guidelines.
