From Guy Fieri to Gucci Mane, here are the celebrities spotted at 2021 NBA Finals so far – The Arizona Republic

You’d never mistake Phoenix or Milwaukee for Los Angeles when it comes to spotting celebrities.

But even without an LA team in the 2021 NBA Finals — too bad, so sad — some stars are showing up to watch the Phoenix Suns and the Milwaukee Bucks in their best-of-seven championship series.

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri attended Games 1 and 2 at Phoenix Suns Arena as a reward for his basketball-obsessed son.

Scottsdale resident Young MC performed at halftime of Game 1; Mesa’s Jimmy Eat World performed at Game 2.

Speaking of musicians, Scott Hessel, the drummer for the Gin Blossoms (who performed during the Western Conference Finals) appeared in a shot of the crowd during Game 2.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey was also at the game, if he satisfies your definition of celebrity.

How to spot celebs at the NBA Finals

When the series moved to Milwaukee for Game 3, you could reliably count on well-known Bucks fan Gucci Mane to show up at Fiserv Forum. He sat next to his wife, Keyshia Ka’oir Davis.

Chance the Rapper was also in attendance at Game 3.

They’re not as ubiquitous on broadcasts as they once were, but celebrities at games don’t go unnoticed, either by fans or the league. Before each game the NBA releases a list of celebrities expected to attend. For instance, writer and director Ava DuVernay and the Rev. Jesse Jackson were among those on the list for Game 3.

Were they there? Who knows? If it wasn’t on Instagram, it didn’t really happen.

OK, that’s not true, but if you are on celebrity watch, the NBA’s Instagram and Twitter accounts are a good place to look, as are the Suns’ and the Bucks‘ accounts.

The series resumes Wednesday in Milwaukee.
